Except when flying Icelandair back and forth from USA, stopping only for a short while at Keflavik, I have visited Iceland only once. In October 2003 I went with a group of Norwegian editors, on a combined study and social trip. We were among other things given the opportunity to see Alltinget, and of course well known sites as Gullfoss, Geysir and The Blue Lagoon. I must say that Iceland was a very pleasant and special country!
But the most memorable moment on our trip was when we visited President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson personally, at his residence Bessastadir outside Reykjavik. He took good time talking to us and showed us around in this beautyful place. The President was a very nice man, who showed real interest in us and Norwegian conditions.
