Iceland inspire me in many ways and there are few things I would like to share with you. Before moving here from Israel three years ago I never imagined that I would become the unofficial embassador of Israel in Iceland. Three years ago there was not much to read about Iceland in Hebrew and while trying to learn more about this country I found myself frustrated not to be able to do it in my own language. I decided to "pick up the glove" so to speak, and make it my personal project to show the wonders of this land to my fellow compatriots. Today, one year after the website www.iceland.co.il
was launched, Iceland can already feel an increase in the number tourists coming from Israel. Israelis who are looking to learn about Iceland are using the website as thier main portal and our forum is ever active with members sharing their travel experiences and answering questions from people who plan to visit here soon. Running the website takes much of my free time but I like doing it and I know it’s for a goof cause.
Soon after the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull volcano and the chaos that it brought to main land Europe, the Israeli media discovered that there is an Israeli living on the icy rock. Since then every now and then I am called for service and interviews on the radio and TV.
Inspired by Iceland is a great project and it definantly inspired me. I wish for this country to continue being the jewel of Europe and perhaps the whole world.
Thank you Iceland!
